Over my 23 years in McDonough, I have had the privilege of witnessing the remarkable growth of our community. However, the challenges posed by traffic congestion highlight the need for further development in our infrastructure. I am committed to working with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to secure the necessary funding for essential road improvement initiatives.
As a first-generation student and a mother, I value the importance of providing a high-quality education. Our educators and students deserve funding and access to resources to help them be successful. This includes ensuring that our educators receive livable compensation. I fully support free breakfast and lunch for our students which will support them in various ways, including their academic performance. Additionally, prioritizing mental health in our schools is important for enhancing the safety and academic achievement of our children and for breaking the school-to-prison pipeline.
My personal journey as a survivor of domestic violence, combined with my academic and professional background in the Criminal Justice System, drives my dedication to enhancing protections for crime victims, particularly those who are most vulnerable, and to ensuring their voices are heard.
Access to affordable and quality healthcare services, prescription medications, and mental health support is essential to improve the quality of life, and for some, it is the difference between life or death.
No amount is too big or too small. Your contribution makes a difference to help Mary Ann be an effective representative for the people.
I have been a resident of McDonough for 23 years. I come from a family of hardworking immigrant parents who own a small business in our community. I am honored to have graduated from Henry County High School. Due to my tenacious spirit, I managed to juggle full-time work and night classes as a single parent, becoming a first-generation student. I earned my bachelor's in Criminal Justice Leadership from Mercer University and my masters in Public Administration from Clayton State University. Currently, I am working on my Juris Doctorate Degree from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School.
As a proud Latina and woman of color, I have dedicated my time to empowering others through volunteer work across metro Atlanta. My personal resilience as a survivor of domestic violence paired with my 18 years in public service, make me a compassionate and strong leader.
Beyond my professional life, my greatest joy comes from being a mother to two amazing children, expressing my creativity as an artist, and attending Tabernacle of Praise Church International.
