DEMOCRACY & COMMUNITY VOICE

  • Opposed SB 369 — the nonpartisan elections bill that would have threatened voting power in metro Atlanta counties and could continue across state 
  • Serving as Vice Chair, Women's Legislative Caucus — amplifying women's voices in the legislature
  • Committee service: Code Revision, State Properties, Judiciary Juvenile

TRAFFIC INFRASTRUCTURE

  • HB 974 — Secured Henry County's share of 1.7 Billion state budget including I-75 expansion, SR 20/81, SR 42, and the Western Parallel Connector
  • HB 1388 — Introduced bill that requires updated traffic impact studies within 36 months, protecting Henry County from overdevelopment
  • Hwy 42 & Huntington Ridge - speed was adjusted and reduced to 45 and pedestrian signs added- permanent crossing structure underway

ECONOMIC RELIEF FOR WORKING FAMILIES


  • HB 1000 — Surplus tax rebate, money back in your pocket 
  • HB 112 — $250–$500 household tax rebate 
  • SB 55 — Dignity & Pay Act, protecting workers' wages 
  • HB 159 — First-time homebuyer assistance 
  • Gas tax suspension — saving you money at the pump
  • Tips & Overtime exemption — up to $1,750 each, tax-free through 2028

EDUCATION & STUDENT SUCCESS

  • HB 974 — secured literacy coaches in Henry County elementary schools and student mental health funding
  • HB 973 — Helped pass budget that delivered a $2,000 one-time supplement to every teacher, bus driver, nurse, and school staff member in Henry County
  • SB 513 — Stood in opposition and successfully blocked the bill that would have stripped driver's licenses and school activities from students with 5 unexcused absences. It did not pass.
  • Stood up to Speaker of the House's Priority Bill HB 268 and opposed discriminatory langugage and WON!

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE & HUMAN TRAFFICKING

  • HB 452 — Supported legislation to prevent domestic violence offenders from purchasing firearms after due process 
  • HB 1283 — Family Justice Center Act, passed unanimously, expanding support for DV survivors
  • SB 324 — Address confidentiality for domestic violence survivors 
  •  Legislative Champion Award—Rep. Santos is recipient from Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence 

SENIORS, VETERANS & FIRST RESPONDERS

HB 266 — Passed veterans tax relief raising the military retirement income exemption to $65,000 

SB 143 — Passed firefighter pension reform allowing retirement at age 50

HB 973 — Secured $100 million ERS pension investment so Georgia retirees can stay in our community

Helped pass more than $48 million in Medicaid provider rate increases, $11.8 million to expand dental coverage, and funding for new primary care residency slots — bringing more doctors and specialists to our community.

What’s next: Continue fighting to expand Medicaid access, increase mental health services, and bring more primary care providers to Henry County families.
